ProtectSys® Wireless Monitoring (WM) is the future of flat roof protection systems come true. The principle behind it is complex, and therefore only briefly explained here. If you are interested in more detailed information, we would be pleased to hear from you!
Basically, ProtectSys® WM protects insulation layers from dampness. The insulation layer becomes damp if water enters through leaks into the insulation layer, but cannot flow out or diffuse out. Eventually, the insulation becomes damp, and as a result, the respective roof construction is compromised.
The early warning system ProtectSys® WM prevents this. Thermometer-hygrometer units continuously measure the temperature and the relative humidity, both in and outside the insulation layer. The measurements are wirelessly transmitted to a central unit, and from there mailed to a central computer through a GSM. The computer analyzes the data and converts it into water vapor pressure.
The individual readings create a data curve the progression of which allows for inferences on the condition of the roof. If the readings are too high, a warning is issued. Even if the readings are stable, a test chart will be compiled once a year to inform on current conditions.
