The system consists of a highly electrically conductive layer of material installed beneath the waterproofing, as well as contact plates and measuring cables.

A pulsed current is applied to the measuring cable, which flows through the moistened waterproofing layer through the leak and is then returned by the electrically conductive layer to the pulse current sensor. The direction of the current flow on the waterproofing can be measured. The breach is located with pinpoint accuracy.
